This is my happy place. Ranch wife, ranch mama. Raising cows and a feral ranch baby on the shores of the Laramie River. Hello everyone!! I am so sorry for my absence from my blog. Life got the best of me this past year and I just couldn’t keep up with writing about my busy times here on the ranch! It’s a new year and we are already into spring! Which I can’t believe!! And you know what spring means…calving season! I am very excited for calving season this year. It is always so much fun to see all the babies start dropping but this year feels a bit different. After the chaos of 2025, calving this year feels like a fresh start. Which I will gladly embrace. 2025 carried some heavy burdens with it when it came to the health and wellbeing of my side of the family. From my mom’s breast cancer diagnosis to my uncle and grandma’s strokes and my grandpa's broken hip, life kept knocking us down at every turn. I am happy to report everyone is doing so much better in 2026! So... having a fresh start sounds like a great way to move through 2026!!
Another fresh start this year will come from my greenhouse garden! I am also happy to report that we had a wonderful yield from it last year and I am hopeful for another great harvest this year! And it is still standing! Even with the horrible winds we have had the last 6 months! We have a few things to finish up the exterior and then we will need to complete the interior before it gets too hot out there! And then…it will be time to plant all the veggies and herbs and watch them grow!
Another thing growing like crazy around here is little miss! I cannot believe we almost have a 2-year-old! It truly feels just like yesterday that I saw those 2 pink lines! Little miss enjoys all things outdoors, every animal on the ranch, music, dancing, going out to eat, pork dumplings, gymnastics and riding around in the side by side. She has so many words and has recently started stringing them together into longer and longer sentences. She learns so much every day and is quite the sponge! I have had to start watching my mouth so she doesn’t pick up any sailor words I might mutter throughout my days!!
I hope this finds you all well and flourishing in 2026! Be on the lookout for more blog posts as the year continues. We have a full summer ahead of us here at the ranch and I can’t wait to bring you all along with me for the wild ride!! You can expect tales of brandings, birthday parties, vacations, camping adventures and of course all the delicious food that comes hand in hand with it all!! As always, this is the Laramie River Ranch Wife, signing off… from my happy place!

Keep on writing you are doing a great job
